Update: Wotnosky, Paulin lead at Mid Pines

On Saturday, January 31, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the PKB Foundation Classic at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. Mid Pines, a classic Donald Ross designed course in the heart of the Sandhills of North Carolina, was named “Best U.S Restoration of the Year” in 2013 by Golf Magazine. The event features a field 50 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 340 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.

In the Bell Series after round one, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) is leading the field by one stroke at two over par with a score of 74. Not far behind Wotnosky there is a tie for second between Anna Chanthaphaeng (Boiling Springs, SC 2016) and Brynn Walker (St. Davids, PA 2016) who are both at three over par each with scores of 75.

In the Futures Series after round one, Cassie Paulin (Winston-Salem, NC 2017) is leading the field by two strokes at eight over par with a score of 80. Not far behind Paulin there is a three-way tie for second between Madison Cross (Hickory, NC 2016), Roshannah Gaur (Hinsdale, IL 2018), and Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019) who are all at 10 over par each with scores of 82.

PKBGT would also like to congratulate Madison Cross on her hole-in-one on hole #11, a 133 yard par 3. This is Cross’s second hole-in-one in her career.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 50s are in the forecast for Sunday. It should be a great weather for the final round of the tournament.
