Guo leads Week 5 of Futures League

CLEMMONS, NC- October 2, 2011– Salem Glen Country Club- Sunday’s beautiful and breezy weather was another great Carolina day to be on a golf course for the Triad Youth Golf Foundation’s West League golfers. In first place as usual was the magnificent Matthew Guo with a great scoring round of 38. Guo started out the first three holes with two birdies and a par. Guo was having an under par round through eight holes until the par 3 8th hole where he found the water hazard. He then preceeded to end the hole with a league regulated double par.

In a close second place was the talented Seth Lomison with a great round of 3 over par 39. Lomison was content with his round but did admit that he could have saved a few strokes here and there. If Lomison didn’t find the water on the par 5 fifth hole which he bogeyed and on the the par 5 seventh hole which he double bogeyed Lomison could’ve had an even par round.

In third place was Sade’cia Riggs with an above average score of 44. Riggs was having some trouble with striking the ball today but knew that she could have played a bit better considering the ideal conditions. In 4th place was the athletic and precise 12 year old Christopher Carr with his lowest round of league play with a 46. Carr was very proud of his round this week and hopes to play better in the final two weeks of the TYGF Fall season. Kaitlyn Colemen was content to find out that she came in 5th place this week with a 47. Colemen enjoyed her round and hopes to have more rounds similar or better, considering that the high school golf matches are coming to a conclusion of their regular season.

Next week’s league play will be in stroke play format with the following final week being in Greensboro at Bryan Park for the TYGF Futures Team Golf League Championship.
