Strong field highlights season ending event
Congratulations to Katherine Perry of Cary, NC who claimed the PKB Tour Championship in a 1-hole play-off to take the crown. Courtney Taylor of Lincolnton, NC shot the low round of the tournament with a 72 to take 2nd.
In the Futures Division, Victoria Allred of Pfafftown, NC blew away the field with a sparkling 79-75-154. Futures Division Points Champion Cassidy England of Madison Heights, VA came in 2nd.

Allison Emrey makes PKB history outlasting Katie Kirk to take Salisbury Classic in 4 Extra Holes!
Salisbury, NC -- In this weeks PKB Girls Golf Action the golf was as intense as the temperature and at the end of the day the playoff princess, Allison Emrey, marked another extra hole victory to her resume in route to her second PKB Title this year.
At the end of play both Allison Emrey of Charlotte, NC and Katie Kirk of Davidson, NC carded 77's. However, it would take 4 more holes after their rounds to find a champion.
After halving the first three holes with pars, Emrey brought the longest playoff in PKB history to a close with a solid par on the fourth hole after Kirk slid her four footer past for the tie. Emrey's playoff victory also marks her as the first girl in PKB history to win two events in extra holes.
Following the two girls was Kayla Sciupider of Etowah, NC in third with a 78, with Hayley Hammond of Mooresville, NC and Jessica Neese of Libery, NC in a tie for fourth with 79's.
In the Futures Division, the battle between division leaders Cassidy England of Madison Heights, VA and Victory Allred continued, but at the close of the round the long knocking points leader's 79 edged out the the smiling girl from Pfafftown by two shots.
Following the girls was Hannah Craver of Winston Salem, NC and Madison Kennedy of Salisbury, NC in third place with scores of 85, and Alaina Yeatts of Durham, NC with an 87.
The girls will have a week off before the Tour Championship at Pine Brook Country Club in Winston - Salem on the 11th & 12th of June. This season ending Championship will be a showdown as all the top girls will contend for their chance to add their names to the year end Peggy Kirk Bell Cup.

KINGS GRANT GC - Sarah Bae wins Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour at Kings Grant
Victoria is victorious in the Futures Division.
Fayetteville, NC-- The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour traveled to Fayetteville this past weekend to play Kings Grant Golf Club in their fifth event of the year. The club has been host to collegiate championships and has always proven to be a great test of golf.
Saturday's tournament proved to follow suit as the girls Bell division played the championship track from over 6000 yards. At the end of Saturday's round Raleigh's Sarah Bae took home the medalist honors with an 82. Bae stated after the round " I did not drive the ball as well as I normally do, but I was able to get the job done today."
The win was the first of the year for the Raleigh star and with her steady performances leading up to the win, she is in great position to contend for this years title.
Following Bae was Caitlyn Morrone of Aberdeen, NC with an 88, and a three way tie for third at 91 consisting of Meredith Mock of Pfafftown, NC, Nimeeta Bhasker of Advance, NC, and Andrea Robbins of Liberty, NC.
In the Futures Division, Pfafftown's Victoria Allred's 82 clipped Grace Stallings of Raleigh, NC by one shot to earn her first win of the year pulling her closer to the points leader Cassidy England who finished 8th in the event. Third place went to Emily Pagrabs of Wilmington, NC at 84, fourth to Alaina Yeatts of Durham, NC at 87, and fifth to Hannah Craver with an 88.
The tours next stop will be in Salisbury, NC at the legendary Country Club of Salisbury on the 31st of May.

COLONIAL CC - Courtney Gunter Wins The Peggy Kirk Bell Tour at Colonial with a 68!
Gunters first showing brings success.
Thomasville, NC-- This past weekend, Tour first timer Courtney Gunter of Mathews, NC captured the fourth event of Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour at Colonial C.C. with a 68!
At the start of the day, the action was tight and after nine holes three players Sarah Bae, Katie Kirk and Courtney Gunter were all within a few strokes.
However, the back nine proved to be a different story as Gunter hopped on the birdie train early needing only 31 shots to complete the back nine leading her to a tour low of 68 and a six shot PKB Victory. Following Gunter were Sarah Bae of Raleigh, NC with at 74, Katie Kirk of Davidson, NC at 77,Virginia Mayer of Charlotte, NC at 78, and Megan Burnham of Gastonia, NC with an 80.
In the Futures Division Long HItting Cassidy England of Madison Heights, VA extended her points lead with a 5 shot victory shooting 84. Following England were Alaina Yeatts of Durham, NC at 89, Lily Crane of Jamestown, NC at 90,Victoria Allred of Pfafftown, NC at 90,and Morgan Pegram of Pfafftown, NC and Marley Felthousen of Southern Shores, NC tied for fifth with scores of 91.

BERMUDA RUN CC - Winning comes in pairs for Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour Division leaders
Katherine Perry cards a pair of 71's to win by 11 and earn her second Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Tour title this year.
Bermuda Run,NC-- Last weekend on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour, Katherine Perry of Cary, NC captured her second title of the year carding a pair of 71's for an eleven shot victory.
In the midst of a shaky first round that was nearly cancelled because of heavy rain, Perry turned raindrops and wet fairways into opportunities shooting the lowest two rounds of the tournament and the lowest competive rounds recorded on tour this year.
Her score of 142 bested second place finisher Shannon Prunty of Oak Ridge, NC (75-78--153) by eleven shots.
Perry's performance brings her to the top of the points list and the overall tour leader.
After her final round, the soon to be 16 year old stated, "It was a good experience to play in these tough conditions this week because I proved to myself that if I can play great in these conditions I can play pretty much anywhere."
As for the eleven shot win, Perry stated "I knew that when we made the turn I had a pretty solid lead, so I just took things one shot at a time and worked on extending it.
Following the top two was Kayla Drue Sciupider of Etowah,NC in third place with scores of 80-76--156, Amanda D'Ostroph of Whispering Pines in fourth 80-78--158, and Sara Bae of Raliegh, NC in fifth 80-79--159.
In the Futures division Cassidy England of Madison Heights, Va also won for her second time on tour this year.
The "under the weather" England fought off the rain and flu like symptoms to win by 16 shots.
England posted scores of 77-77-154; following her was Victoria Allred of Pfafftown, NC shooting 87-83-- 170, third, Emily Brooks of Chapel Hill,NC 93-88--181, in fourth Hannah Craver of Winston-Salem,NC 90-91-181, and in fifth Alaina Yeatts of Durham,NC 93-92--185.
The tours next stop will be at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC on Saturday April 19th.

Allison Emrey chips in to Win One Hole Playoff Over Lori Beth Adams
Concord, NC-- In this weekends Carolina Girls golf action, over 40 girls of the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour gathered for their second event of the year at Cabarrus Country Club. The conditions were tough as the girls fought heavy winds and slick greens, but in the end Allison Emrey emerged as the champion shooting 83 and outlasting Lori Beth Adams in a one hole playoff.
In the Bell division competition was tight at the top this week as only three strokes separated the top six girls. Lori Beth McAdams set the pace early posting an 83 and until the final group it looked like she had earned the victory, but a battling Allison Emrey in the last tee time of the day matched Adams and brought the second event of the year to extra holes.
In extra holes, Emrey hit an incredible recovery shot just off the collar of the green and chipped in for a birdie leaving McAdams with a 20 footer down the hill to tie. After McAdams came up short, another Peggy Kirk Bell event was in the books with Allison Emrey as the Champion.
After the playoff Emrey stated "The pins were in some really tough spots today,but I had a great chipping day and was able to make some good putts coming in. In the playoff, I had a tough third shot out of the trees that I had to keep low and luckily it did not hit anything and then to chip it in was really big."
Following Emrey and Adams was Courtney McKim of Raliegh, NC in third at 84, Sara Bae of Raleigh, NC in fourth at 85 and Katie Kirk and Andrea Robbins tied for fifth with 86.
The Futures Division Champion was Alaina Yeatts of Durham, NC who won by 2 shots over Tour point’s leader Cassidy England of Madison Heights, Va who posted a 90. Following the two were Lily Crane of Jamestown, NC finishing 3rd at 95, Victoria Allred of Pfafftown, NC was fourth at 100, and Morgan Schultz was fifth at 101.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour will head to Bermuda Run for their next two day event on April 5th and 6th.

Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour Has Great Final Round Golf Action and Mrs. Bell awards the weekend champions.
Katherine Perry captures first event of the year on the Pegggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour with a final round of 76.
Southern Pines, NC-- In Carolina Girls golf action at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club this weekend, Katherine Perry of Cary, NC won the first event of the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour.
Perry shot scores of 81-76 for a total of 157 on the weekend. Her final round 76 tied for low round of the tournament and gave her a commanding five shot victory.
Following Perry was Lincolnton, NC Courtney Taylor at 80-82--162,Courtney Rousse from Holly Springs, NC 88-76-- 164, Amanda D' Ostoph 83-82--165, and Lori Beth Adams of Burlington, NC 85-81--166 tied for fifth with first round leader Lauren Smith 80-86--166.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour was off and running with their first event of the year this weekend at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club.
The event gave way to some great moments coupled by great play from the girls and Peggy Kirk Bell add her personal touch as she autograped personal copies of her books and handed out awards for the girls on the tour.
After a windy first round that brought tough scoring conditions, Sunday's calm and warm weather brought some great golf action. At the beginning of the second round, Katherine Perry trailed leaders Courtney Taylor and Lauren Smith by a single shot, but by the end of nine her score of 37, gave her a 3 shot lead going into the back nine. That was all the room Perry would need as she continued her consistent play and closed with a final nine of 39 for a final round of 76 tieing for low round of the day giving her a five shot victory. After the round, the calm and collected Perry stated " I am honored to win this first event and it is great to do it in front of Mrs. Bell."
Three girls, Katherine Perry, Courtney Rousse, and Clare T Fisher of Asheville, NC tied for low round of the tournament with 76's on Sunday.
In the Futures Division, 12 year old Cassidy England of Madison Heights Virginia took home the hardware with a two day total of 169 with a great final round of 80. Following England were 12 year old Victoria Allred of Pfafftown, NC 92-86--180, Emily Pagrabs of Wilmington, NC 96-90--186, Catherine Parks of Salisbury, NC 95-98--193 and Alaina Yeatts of Durham, NC 104-92--196.
Aside from great golf conditions, the girls enjoyed the personal touch that Peggy Kirk Bell brought to the event. Amanda D'Ostroph who finished fourth said "It was great to sit and talk with Mrs. Bell at the Pizza social on Saturday night, her stories are great and it is neat that she wants to share her experiences with all of us."
The Tour will head to Cabarrus Country Club in Charlotte for their next even on Saturday March 22nd.

2008 TOUR SCHEDULE REVISED
Due to a scheduling conflict with many players on the Tour and the newly rescheduled EJGA Tour Championship date, we will be changing the May 17th Kings Grant GC event to Saturday, May 10. The event will stay a one-day event for $55. If you have registered for the May 17th event and cannot play in the May 10th rescheduled event, a full refund will be granted.
We will continue to offer two divisions for girls 12 & Over. The collegiate-prep Bell Division playing 5,700 - 6,000 yards and the high-school prep Futures Division playing 4,800 - 5,100 yards. Learn more about the Tour by clicking the links below.
