Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour

PARENT & SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

Parents Code of Conduct

The PKB takes great pride in the inaugural season of the Peggy Kirk Bell Tour.  The quality of its players, host facilities and community involvement at each tournament must be outstanding. In order to continue making tournaments enjoyable for everyone, the PKB requires all members and parents to adhere to a set of guidelines known as the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is to be followed throughout the entire tournament.

Expectations from Parents

  • Allow PKB Rules Officials to administer rulings. You will be brought into a situation ONLY if the Rules Official asks you.
  • When on the course, turn off cell phones or turn ringers to the silent or the vibrate mode. Respect host facility's policy if cell phones are not allowed.
  • Adhere to host facility's dress code. Some facility's may not allow blue jeans, T-shirts, etc.
  • Adhere to Spectator Guidelines at all times.

PKB Spectator Guidelines

Please be courteous and know that it is appropriate for parents and spectators to applaud successful strokes, but in order to secure the spirit of the game, we ask parents and spectators to please adhere to the following guidelines: Please note that if any of the following guidelines are perceived as broken by an PKB official, the player may be subject to penalty.

  • “Advice is any council or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of club or the method of making a stroke.” (USGA Rules of Golf definition)
  • Keeping the above statement in mind, please keep your conversation with the player to words of encouragement as long as advice is not given.
  • Spectators attend PKB events at their own risk.
  • The PKB allows spectator carts at the courses discretion.  Spectators may rent carts from the course pro shop at applicable courses.  Availability of spectator carts is not guaranteed.
  • Players are not permitted to ride in a spectator cart at any time during PKB competition.
  • Spectators should stay one shot ahead of the group they are following. This allows spectators to follow errant shots and help identify where the ball comes to rest. Spectators are allowed to aide in the search for lost golf balls.
  • Spectators should stay on cart paths. In the absence of cart paths, we ask that spectators stay in the rough. Please stay off fairways, tees and greens.
  • Spectators should not give rulings. Please seek a PKB rules official if the need arises.
  • Spectators are allowed to carry medicine, drinks, food, umbrellas, etc.
  • For your personal safety, we ask you exercise caution at all times. When inclement weather moves into the area, the PKB will suspend play by sounding air horns. Accordingly, you should seek shelter immediately. The PKB staff will evacuate players from the course first, and then spectators.

Violations of Guidelines

The PKB staff may assess a penalty based on the severity of the violation. If a serious breach has occurred, the spectator may be asked to leave the facility or the spectator may not be permitted to attend another PKB event.
