TYGF Major League Team Golf
LEAGUE PLAY RULES
PACE OF PLAY – Players are expected to complete the
9-hole round in under 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Players or groups that are unable to meet this requirement will be
penalized and required to move into position by skipping holes. If a player continues to not observe the pace
of play guidelines, they will be removed from the league.
BE READY TO HIT -
PLAY READY GOLF - Be at your ball when it is your turn to hit, be prepared
on the tee box to hit when it’s your turn.
MAXIMUM SCORE ON HOLE - Double Par will be the maximum score on a hole.
CADDIES – Caddies are not permitted. Players must carry or use a pull cart. Parents are to spectators only.
COURSE ETIQUETTE - Repair ball marks, divots and pick up feet on the
greens.
COURSE RULES - USGA Rules apply to all situations on
course.
MATCH STRUCTURE – Each week you will have a chance to
earn points for your team. At the end of the season, the team with the most
accumulated points will be awarded the Champion Team.
SCORECARDS - Scorecards must be attested, signed and
turned in to TYGF Staff or Team Coach.
STAT KEEPING – Keep track of fairways, greens & putts. These stats allow you to track your progress throughout the season.
AWARDS – Team Champion, League MVP, Most Improved
Player, and MVP for each team.
HOW TO REDUCE SLOW PLAY
1.
Play Ready Golf: On the tee, the player arriving first should
hit without regard to honor. On the fairway, play your shot when ready without
regard to who is farthest from the hole as long as you do not interfere with
another player.
2.
Think Ahead and Focus On
Your Game: Reach decisions quickly and execute shots without delay. On the way to
your ball begin thinking about the shot you will play.
3.
Reduce The Number Of Practice Swings: Players
should not take more than one practice swing. Take your practice swings before
it is your turn to play.
4.
Be Ready To Putt: Much time is
wasted on the putting green. Be aware who is away and be ready to putt when it
is your turn. Line up your putt and take practice strokes before it is your
turn.
5.
Practice Continuous Putting: Putt out
whenever possible. Continue putting until the ball is holed except when
interfering with another player's intended line of play.
6.
Pick Up If at Double Par: If you have
reached the double par maximum, please pick up your ball and move on to the
next hole.
7.
Exit The Green Promptly: When your
group is finished putting, exit the green as quickly as possible. Write down
scores at the next tee.
8.
Keep Your Playing Partners Moving: It is each
player’s responsibility to monitor their group’s pace of play at all times.
