Mike Goodes Scholarship Fund

The goal for the scholarship fund is to raise $250,000 over the next five years. The fund will lend a helping hand to aspiring young golfers who demonstrate dedication and passion in developing their skills. The scholarship offers support for those starting the game and those excelling in it. Plans for the Mike Goodes Scholarship fund will include supporting two college bound scholarships for advanced junior golfers heading to compete in collegiate golf, five developmental scholarships designed for developing junior golfers active in competitive events, and ten novice scholarships for youth golfers just beginning the game on a yearly basis.

“Mike's game and personality is embodied in the Goodes Scholarship Fund. His hard work accompanied with focus and a greater purpose for doing all he does makes him an ideal role model for the young people of the Greensboro community. Our Foundation is greatly honored to have Mr. Goodes on the team and we believe it will continue to further create and enhance innovative programs for the growth of junior golf in the Carolina’s and beyond. Certainly, the TYGF mission is enhanced and expanded with Mike's presence and generosity” says TYGF President Chris Haarlow.

Mike Goodes, a native of Reidsville, NC and a local business owner, has recently risen to success on the PGA Champions Tour. Goodes joined the PGA Champions Tour three years ago and has consistently stood among the top 30 on the tour standings. Goodes was a decorated amateur, winning multiple titles in the Carolina’s. His love for the game has kept him playing throughout his life. At age 50, he took an opportunity to play on the Champions Tour and ignited his passion for the game. “The game of golf has given me so much throughout the years. I want kids to experience the passion I have for the game and take away the life skills that have given me so much,” says Goodes.
